The Funeral - Band of Horses

You put on The Funeral and people around you wonder why it sounds so familiar. It's because Kid Cudi (I guess you guys can sense that I am a Kid Cudi fan), sampled it really well in The Prayer. This song has so many levels, that it becomes real trippy. The song is really chill, and is a quality in music that I love. A song where you can kick back and listen to the music.

Oh...and how trippy is the album cover. I love it!

Sleep Through The Static - Jack Johnson

Yupp, I am pulling the Jack Johnson card. Jack Johnson is a musicians artist. Meaning, while many love his music, the real appreciation comes from the people who play instruments and have attempted to write music. In this particular song, the lyrics are delivered in a very rhythmic way where each new line is a continuation of the preceding line.
Such as, "...Of god wears camouflage, cries at night and drives a dodge
Pick up the beat and stop hogging the feast
That's no way to treat an enemy."

That's what I call genius!

Hope you guys like it! As always...comment and start discussions.

Man on the Moon - Kid Cudi

No other hip/hop song in the last 5 years comes close to the sentiment of Man on the Moon. Man on the Moon illustrates clearly the thoughts of Kid Cudi, along with the sentimentality and reflections upon his life. The beat is outstanding and the lyrics are quite inspirational in their own way. Man on the Moon is the epitome of an artist. An artist, in my opinion, is someone who is not afraid to step out of his/her comfort zone. Kid Cudi is a perfect example of an artist and this song is crazy good :)

Close my eyes, hide in the dark
It's a curtain call, come on come on
All I do is try to make it simple
The ones that make it complicated
Never get congratulated
I'm something different in all aspects
Don't want a woman just to love her assets
I Still wife her up even with her flat chest
The type to get hurt
But that's the past tense

Moment of Silence - Brent James & The Contraband

I heard this song for the first time today. It made me realize what I love about music. In the past few years there have been few songs that perfect all aspects of the music. Meaning the lyrics, music, and hook are all good the whole way through. The lyrics, especially in the chorus, are unreal. You can't help but smile when you hear it.  Let me know if you feel the same way I do. I love the song and I hope you do to. Give me opinions, feedback, criticism. Just talkin music.

Don't anybody want a moment of silence
Nothing but a blank page to hide in
A wave that rolls you over
As your ready to drown
Everybody's gotta start at nothing
Sometimes nothing is everything
When life gets loud, you've got to turn it down
You need a moment of silence

Welcome!

Hello world, I, like many of you, love music. We all listen to music on a daily basis whether conscious about it or not. Because of the overwhelming amount of music we have a hard time looking for good music, completely disregarding genre, because I believe that a good song is a good song regardless of the genre. Hopefully my blog will help you find your song. Once a week there will be a top ten list (@The Real Top Ten...link below), possibly themed. So...ummmm yeah, just look forward to posts, and enjoy the great music! Tips are always welcomed.
